I was commissioned by the GIZ of Namibia to document the small scale gemstone mining taking place on Farm Neu Schwaben in Namibia where a group of miners armed with basic tool break rock to find the gemstones buried deep below. This is back breaking work and some of these miners have been in these holes for years often without any real success.
